Dr. Jerry Skidmore

Dr. Jerry Skidmore grew up on a dairy farm just north of Mt. Pleasant.  He attended Nevil's Chapel School, Harts Bluff School, and Mt. pleasant High School.  Dr. Skidmore graduated from Texas A&M University in 1970 with high honors and from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1971, also with high honors.

After graduation, Dr. Skidmore served in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corp for 2 years.   In 1973 he joined Mt. Pleaasant Animal Clinic where he practiced mixed animal medicine, including bovine and equine,  until 1984.  In 1984 he decided to focus on companion animals, dogs and cats, and completed the transition in 1986.

Dr. Skidmore is a firm believer in practicing modern medicine the old fashioned, down home way.  He spends more than 150 hours every year in the classroom to keep his 30 years of practical experience sharp.  His goal is to see that the treatment your animal receives is the most modern and advanced that you can receive outside of universities and specialty centers.
